Operation Clean Sweep depends on volunteers for its success.
A Sincere Thank you Our last official cleanup was September 20th, nearly 75 volunteers cleaned up 1,620 lbs of trash and litter from Ward 5. Many youngsters from the Congdon School brought family members to help out. We held our Thank you Celebration and many items from local businesses were donated for our Chinese Auction. Every 2008 volunteer name was entered into the drawings, whether you participated on 1 or every cleanup. This is our way of showing appreciation for everyone’s time and energy.
In 2008, Hundreds of volunteers cleaned up over 11 Tons of trash from 5 neighborhoods in New Bedford, MA.
Since 2006, Volunteers have cleaned up over 39 Tons of trash and litter in New Bedford! It takes many segments of the community to come together and work as a team in order for Operation Clean Sweep to be successful in our cleanups. Volunteers both young and old who care enough to come out and lead by example, city workers who give of their time, talent and energy to help improve our neighborhoods, in-kind donations ensure that we have sustenance to get us through the day and the committee members who pull it all together.
Thank you, we couldn’t have done it without you!
